MINFLUX is a superresolution microscopy technique with unprecedented spatiotemporal resolution with the potential to monitor conformational changes of proteins in living cells. Current MINFLUX microscopes however are complex, difficult to build and costly, thus access to this groundbreaking technology is limited. In the project “A high performance cost-effective MINFLUX microscope“, Jonas Ries will develop a prototype for a novel MINFLUX concept called PhaseFLUX, which reduces complexity. This approach employs a fast variable phase plate consisting of only a few simple components, leading to significantly lower costs, higher robustness, and superior performance.
